MSH Consultants is grounded in a commitment to justice, equity, and inclusion.  We support clients in aligning their strategy and work with social justice and equity principles. Examples of our past work include:

 

  • Support a foundation’s senior staff to engage their Board in learning about and committing the foundation to an equity-and-justice framework.

  • Guide a foundation in creating grantmaking and governance practices that reflect its commitment to justice and equity.

  • Design a learning journey for a family to explore and grow in their understanding of how social justice principles can magnify the impact of their grantmaking.

Molly Schultz Hafid

MPA, Principal

Founded by Molly Schultz Hafid, MSH Consultants works with individual donors, families, and foundations, providing strategic guidance on grantmaking, next-generation engagement,  leadership transitions, governance assessment and redesign, and organizational development. Her work is built on her experience: 

  • Serving as the Executive Director (part-time) of the Butler Family Fund, a family foundation whose mission is to seek lasting solutions to homelessness and an equitable criminal legal system. 

  • Crafting philanthropic strategies, programs, and approaches for a range of clients from individuals to large institutional funders. 

  • Advising executives, foundation boards, and staff on establishing trust-based practices grounded in equity and social justice principles.

  • Customized consultation for individuals, families and foundations from start-up to spend-down. 

  • Access to an extensive network of funder colleagues and social justice advisors, enabling collaboration to address a wide-range of partner needs.

Learning

Molly’s research interests include philanthropic development in the United States, Middle East and North Africa, global trends in Corporate Social Responsibility/Environmental, Social, and Governance practices, and best practices for social justice philanthropy by domestic and international funders. Her current affiliations include:
